Weather, 1; 24Hour Fitness AC, 0

No one likes posts about the weather. In fact, the only thing that approaches a rule here at Metroblogging Sacramento, besides write about Sacramento, is don’t duplicate information every got this morning from Al Roker or what pretty much everyone can tell by simply existing in Sacramento in the summer.

It’s hot.

Duh.

But sometimes the weather doesn’t stay outside where it belongs. Like tonight, it just barged on in to the downtown 24Hour Fitness on 7th Street. Despite several large, soundstage-sized fans set up toward the front, that place was a veritable BikramHour Fitness as the sweaty, stale air pushed indoor temperatures seemingly close to the 100+ degree evening outside. It’s seemed stuff there for weeks to me - but I’m a morning exerciser and I’ll not complain again having had the misfortune to get stuck working out there after the work day.

It’s time to recharge the AC, guys - that shit cannot be healthy. Combine a lackluster aircon with mobs of members boosting their heartrates with each rep, step, or stroke, and you have one unpleasant experience. Not sure what’s going on, but tonight, 24Hour earned 4 dumbbells down for miserable atmosphere and overcrowding.

Ewww, reminds me when SCC’s weightroom had an AC malfunction and I had a class in there at 5:30 PM on the hottest day of the year. It was Sacramento’s newest non-hippest sweat lodge. Not recommended!
