OVER MY HEAD

So, I am not going to bore with with a review The Fray concert that was held at EMPIRE this past Tuesday. It was a good show and I knew two songs they played, and the opening band Augustana was pretty damn good. If you have been in a coma (or took, like, a 100 hour nap, for you Dane Cook fans), then you might not have heard of The Fray. If you are among the living and listen to Sacramento radio stations, then you know they sing the song “Over My Head.”

I haven’t been to too many concerts in clubs, and now I think I know why. The upside is that you get to see the band UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL and have access to many drinks at many different bars within the club (no 20-minute wait for a $7 Bud Light)…the downside is that some people there seemed to not be there for the show and just wanted to drink and chat with their friends (two activities I’m almost always in favor of)…but there is a time and place for everything. I may just be cheap, but I don’t know why you would waste 30 buscks (15 for the tix, 14.50 for the “convenience” charges) to go to a concert when you can go to a bar for FREE and talk to your friends. I still enjoyed the show, but I think a lot of people were pretty bummed that they heard more about the shots people were having than “How To Save A Life.”
