We’re under water!

It’s official (though certainly not news): our levees suck.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has formally withrdawn a determination that many of the levees protecting the Natomas area meet the minimal 100-year flood standards.

    Dear Natomas -

So, did you guys ever wonder *why* the land in that area was so nice and flat?

To be fair, there are blocks in midtown more in danger than others, but generally speaking, the stuff level with the same elevation where rice grows might be a tad more dangerous.

    Love,
    Midtown
