Homegrown Fierceness!!
I knew the day would come when I would get to write about reality TV on the blog…just started watching the new season of America’s Next Top Model (Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW) and was pleased to find out that one of the models, A.J., is from Sacramento. She was just complemented by Mr. Jay so she’ll probably be around for a couple of weeks. I’ll try to post on her progress each week…Now, only if someone from Project Runway was from Sactown…
I just checked out the “before and after” makeover photos and, call me crazy, but they all look the same in the after shots. Either “stock white model with pout,” or “stock ethnic model, heavy on the sultry.”
I’ve only watched the show a few times - but these looks seem to be less runway and more SI Swimsuit, Vicky’s, or other assorted catalogue. Am I right or wrong. Amanda, you’re in the know, correct my wrong-headedness.
