Read any good books lately? Gone cave exploring or maybe deep sea diving? Or maybe you’d like to take a trip into an alternate world where dark magic is coming into play? You can do all this and more from the comfort of your armchair by checking out Sacramento author and veterinarian James Clemens/Rollins/ Jim Czajkowski (ch-KOW-ski). Clemens is the pen name for sci fi / fantasy series, including “The Banned and The Banished Series” (books like Wit’ch Fire) and “The Godslayer Chronicles.” Rollins is the pen name for action and adventure, including such hits as Subterranean and Ice Hunt. Rollins also has a new series “Sigma Force”.

The good doctor wasn’t born in Sac (born in Chicago), but chose to open his veterinary medicine practice here, so he is like many of us in this fair city…a transplant.

I had the fortune to hear Dr. Czajkowski speak at a writing class I was taking here in town a couple of years ago. He was pretty modest and obviously focused on writing stories. He told us that whenever he “got stuck” in writing he’d go for a walk and sort things out. Good advice for any writer–or any situation you might be “stuck in.”
