Ghetto Birds Circling
That’s an unPC term, isn’t it.
I’m trying to fall asleep this evening to the same sound to which I awoke this morning: rotar noise somewhere in the near distance. It’s not that I dislike helicopters - it’s thatI know they seldom circle for fun. They circle for traffic accidents. They circle for escaped convicts. They circle for crimes in progress or crimes committed.
I change my mind: I do dislike helicopters. I want to sleep without wondering if the spotlight is going to pass over my own house - or, more pressingly - why it’s out there to begin with.

Yeah . . . we heard quite a few of those in our time in midtown. Several times, the light did shine down into the alley/street behind our house, which was of course very unnerving.
We moved to Elmhurst, in part to escape the ‘copters . . . and SURPRISE! UCD Med Center has a landing pad . . . guess what flies overhead every single day . . . . :)
Don’t fret too much CD. We get a few hovering here in sleepy Copdock from time to time and it’s only for tracking escaped pigs or assisting the rescue of oversized yachts trailers getting stuck trying to squeeze between the pub and the post office on their way to Ipswich marina. Could be the same deal going down in central Sacto.
Escaped pigs!? Oh, the humanity (or should I say, zoomanity?)!!!
Oh yes those pigs can zoom around once they get trotting on their little trotters.
