Screw You Old Man Winter!
It’s miserable being sick when you’re essentially on vacation (ok, jobless, aimless, etc.-less). It’s especially miserable when you’re tired of eating mediocre-at-best soup from a can. I can take only so much Campbell’s.
So I ask you, Sacramento, where’s the best soup in town? The Bread Store has some decent soup, and there used to be a candy store at 21st and P or Q that had a couple good soups. But I don’t know of any place in town that consistently has great soups.
Is there a really great bowl of soup out there? Keep warm and stay healthy…

I have two suggestions:
1) La Bonne Soupe Cafe on 8th & I (ish)
2) La Trattoria Bohemia on Jst at 36th/37th
La Bonne Soupe Cafe is amazing, but the lines are long and the hours are limited. Damn good sandwiches as well.
The Trattoria is always fresh and tasty. And the other food is yummy too.
I second La Bonne Soupe. I’m also a big, big fan of La Bou’s butternut squash soup. I’m such a big fan that I’ve never tried any of the others.
But where can I get outstanding Hot and Sour soup?
Well, if it doesn’t come in a can, I’m afraid I can’t help on this one. But I’ll gladly keep reading if others have suggestions…
I nominate this post for Title of the Month honors - cracks me up!
I agree with the title kudos! Sums up the season.
