I couldn’t be more excited for the McCormick & Schmick’s. Happy hours at the one on 4th Ave in Seattle comprise some of my favorite memories from my dotcom days.

What’s the catch? Do their drinks cost $10 each and you have to buy two?

I meant to say what is the catch with the $1.95 menu at Happy Hour. It was probably implied, but I wanted to be clear. ;)

I’ve been to the one Maya mentioned on 4th in Seattle, and I spent far too many long evenings and mucho dinero at the happy hours at Jakes Grill in Portland. Fabulous. As for the catch, I don’t know if it has changed, but Jakes used to have a $4 drink minimum. In other words, about $5.95 for one of their burgers, and let me tell you, it’s a deal.

I’m very excited about this opening and will be trying my best to get there this weekend.

You should try to go by on Saturday…word on the street is that they’re open for lunch…and it’s free!! Other than that, I just heard they’re not open officially until Monday evening!

There’s no catch - from what I recall of happy hours at their Downtown LA location. So yeah, it really is that good a deal. Even with a one or two drink minimum, you end up with a relatively cheap evening out. But again, no catch that I can recall!

I wonder how this might change other happy hours in town. And will it become the new see-and-be-seen in town?
