Friday Night Concerts in the Park Return!
It’s a bit dreary outside, but don’t let that stop you from supporting 2007’s first Friday Night Concert at Chavez Plaza, downtown. They’re all FREE and it’s a great place to grab some food, support local artists, and mingle with your fellow Sacramentans.
Check out the schedule for more on tonight’s opening lineup! - including headliners Bright Light Fever:
Bright Light Fever is young four-piece rock band out of Placerville. They site influences as diverse as The Beatles to Fugazi. These are very telling influences in that the band delivers a very full, modern rock sound combined with uptempo pop/rock songs. Bright Light Fever is fronted by 20-year old singer/songwriter Evan Ferro. He and bassist Dan Suave (also 20) started the band 2 years ago. Based on the handful of songs they’d had then, they became the first band signed to the new indie label Stolen Transmission. Evan then asked his older brother, guitarist Matt Ferro and drummer Robbie Torres (who were both in the popular local band Supermodel Suicide) to join. Their debut CD came out in late 2006 and they have been on the road touring almost constantly since. This will be their 2nd appearance on the Friday Night Concert Series, and their first as headliners.
