Progress? Really?

I’ve been seeing these yellow Fargo for Mayor signs all over the neighborhood around my office. Today on my lunch I saw this cluster (and there’s even more outside the frame on the left!) and was moved to post

At present, I don’t have a dog in this race, but I have to admit that these signs bug the hell out of me. They’re ugly for one, but… “Progress!” Is that really an advisable slogan for someone aiming at a third term in office? My vote for that would be a No.

Re-elect Mayor Goldie Wilson . . . . . Back to the Future? No? Anyone?

This reminds me: at the apartment complex across the street from my house, there was a similar batch of signs – for Mitt Romney.

After he bailed, the signs disappeared . . . well, no, actually, they got stuck in our shrubs and have been there ever since. The grounds people don’t move them. I’m tempted to take them back and leave them on the apartments’ porch.

You’re right though, in the landscape of political signs, Fargo has chosen terrible colors, non-traditional fonts, and has used two -TWO!! – exclaimation points. Wow! Okay!

Can we get a third candidate? Argh.
