Event dining

Today is my 9th wedding anniversary. The only place my wife wants to go is, believe it or not, P.F. Chang’s. She loves going there because of her food allergies and their extensive gluten-free menu. I love her, so there we’ll be going.

Where do you like to go to celebrate? Waterboy? Masons? Let us know where and why!

    Happy anniversary to you.

There’s no better place to go to celebrate than BJ’s Brewery. I have yet to go to the one in Natomas, but they’re pretty much all the same. Great atmosphere, amazing food.

There’s too many good restaurants in Sac, I think. :) We love Mulvaney’s and Moxie, as well less high-brow fare like Rubicon and Buckhorn Grill. And Crepeville. Oh, and Jack’s. I could keep going. Ink!

My only not-list: Lucca. Gorgeous setting, craptastic food.

Todo Un Poco in the Laguna area. I don’t live out there but it is worth the drive. The owner is warm and helpful and they have lots of menu options. Plus she will gladly alter or substitute for vegetarian or anything else. I recommend the Punjabi Pizza (really!).

Can I suggest Biba’s in Midtown? Took the lady there last year for her birthday. First time for both of us and we loved it. She’s really picky about wine but she never remembers names/types/whatever but since it was her day, the server brought out 6 or so glasses for us to taste (all for free). And offered to bring more if we still weren’t sure. We settled on an awesome merlot.

They treated us well and people kept coming out, making comments like, "so you guys are the great looking couple we are hearing about," or "so that’s the birthday girl?!" When they saw us place our camera down, they immediately offered to take pictures of us. The place is really upmarket but they made us feel so welcome.

The lady still talks about it till this day, bragging to all her lady friends. Heaven knows how I’ll top that this year.

That’s good to hear abotu Biba’s. I’ve yet to make it there, for no good reason, and there’s not much else in town that qualifies as good Italian.
