Summer Picnic
Blanket, sandwiches, potato salad and an amazing bottle of wine.
They all add up to a lovely picnic in Clarksburg. I enjoyed checking out new wines and classic favorites in this vino haven by the Sacramento River.

When my co-workers found out about my love affair with wine tasting, they said I had to check out Clarksburg. I finally carved out a lazy Saturday afternoon to explore this adorable town.
We checked out the wineries at the Old Sugar Mill. I was quite tickled by the Cloud 9 offerings by the Solomon Wine Company. The 2006 Zinfandel had a nice balance of dark fruit and spices.
Then we dropped by Husick’s Country Store for some picnic supplies. I’m a fan of all things pastrami, so the tangy Reuben hit the spot for me.
Our final stop was at a patch of grass at Bogle Vineyards. My hubby and I stopped by the tasting room for the final ingredient of our afternoon picnic. I enjoyed the toasty finish of the ’07 Petite Sirah. It had fine, complex blend of berries, smoke and rich textures.
