Ultimate Terror Scream Park


Ultimate Terror Scream Park offers 3 haunted houses on select dates in Sacramento.
The 3 haunted houses include (1) Lobotomy Psycho Show, “venture into the abandoned asylum for loonies where some of them may have never left”, (2) Begrudge, “a lair filled with disgusting lavatories that haven’t been used in decades”, (3) The Superstition Killer, “venture into a horrific murder scene in a deserted household.”
“The attractions are not recommended for children under the age of 12.”

Admission varies: General Admission $25 – $30; Fast Pass Admission $32 – $40; VIP Admission $40 – $50.

Gold Rush Days

Gold Rush Days – Sacramento’s heritage celebration – Labor Day Weekend 2017.
Transforming Sacramento’s historic district into the Gold Rush era of the 1850s. With costumed performers taking on the roles of celebrities, personalities and just plain folks. Bluegrass pickers and old-time musicians will perform on several stages.

Visit Tent City: A recreation of town life in early Sacramento City where you can visit saloons, a gambling tent, doctors, dentists, and even an undertaker. Also in Tent City available for purchase: fish & chips, roasted corn on the cob, fresh-made kettle korn, homemade sarsaparilla, root beer, draft ale, local wines.

Artisan Alley: Tinsmiths, Blacksmiths, Lace makers and other artisans.

There will also be historic reenactments of Sacramento’s legendary history.

Gold Rush Days Events start on Saturday (Sept. 2) and go until Monday (Sept. 4).

: The district of Old Sacramento is shut down to vehicle traffic during Gold Rush Days, please use the following parking garages, both garages take cash and credit:
Old Sacramento Garage – 2nd & I Street (entrance off I Street)
Tower Bridge Garage – At Neasham Circle (entrance off Capitol Mall)

Train Rides along the River


Historic locomotives, steam or diesel, run along the levees of the Sacramento River for a six-mile, 45-minute roundtrip excursion.

Weekend excursion trains run Saturdays and Sundays; April through September; every hour on the hour, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting — If temperatures reach 100 degrees or higher, trains may be cancelled).

Train ride tickets are available to book online in advance. Regular Coach: $12 adults, $6 youths (ages 6-17), ages 5 and under ride free. First Class Car available on select weekends with a higher ticket price. No tickets are available for pre-purchase online the day of the train ride.

Train depart from the Central Pacific Railroad Freight Depot (On Front Street between J and K Streets).

Sky Spectacular 2017

Saturday, December 31, 2016 is the New Year’s Eve Sky Spectacular a free family-friendly event from 6:00 p.m. with fireworks at 9:00 p.m.
There will be Superheroes roaming Front street. Bring your camera to take photos of your kids with their favorites.
In the Waterfront Park area there will be balloon twisting and face painting.
At 9:00 is the fireworks show with music simulcast on 106.5 FM. Only one fireworks show this year; however, it will be about 20 minutes long.

Plan ahead, the will be a great deal of traffic. Consider public transit. If driving, consider this: Old Sacramento will be closed to ALL vehicle traffic at 4:00 p.m. also the Tower Bridge will be closed beginning at 7:30 p.m. to ALL vehicle traffic and will re-open after the 9:00pm fireworks display.

Harry Potter Yule Ball

Harry Potter Yule BallThe third annual teen Yule Ball December 17, 2016 from 8:00 p.m. to midnight at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria. Witches and wizards ages 14-19 are invited to the Galleria for a formal dance. Dress code is semi-formal; cosplay is encouraged.
Registration for this free event is not required; however, suggested.
